Survive and Thrive
In increasingly hostile work environments
My dear friend and brilliant colleague Michelle Redfern has written an article about what’s happening in the US. I have been trying to write such an article for months, but have been daunted by the magnitude of the task.
As always her action orientation means you will find lists of concrete steps that organizations, managers/executives and you can take to survive and thrive what’s happening in the US and inside US-based companies around the world.
Find it here:
I hope that you will read it and subscribe to her Substack, The Truth Bomb Times!
AND, here’s my take on 3 concrete actions that you can take in the ever more hostile-toward-women reality of life in the US.
Continuously develop and demonstrate your Business Savvy. I know that I might sound like a broken record, but in the face of declining initiatives that encourage managers to find “hidden” talent by looking beyond their stereotypes and assumptions, you will have to ensure that you are being seen as a “partner in the business.” Soon I will be announcing innovative ways that my Substack will support you!
Mentor other women* on business, financial and strategic acumen. Too often we mentor other women on confidence, work/life balance and speaking up all of which require Business Savvy for lasting impact.
Support other women by sharing opportunities. Use your voice and network to inform them of possibilities for promotions, new positions, educational experiences, special assignments, etc.
*Referring to women of all backgrounds, not solely those who are like you.
